Climbing Clip – the most important at a glance
A climbing clip, also called a quickdraw, is an essential piece of gear for sport climbing and trad climbing. Quickdraws consist of two carabiners (one gate open, one gate closed) connected by a loop of webbing. The open gate carabiner is attached to your climbing rope and the closed gate carabiner is clipped to your protection, whether that’s a bolt or an ice screw.
There are many different types of climbing clips on the market, from basic models to ones with all the bells and whistles. Here are some things to consider when choosing a quickdraw:
